Feline Neurosis

Feline Neurosis

We really shouldn’t be surprise that an animal such as cats with a nervous tissue so finely thread, occasionally endure authentic neurosis. These conduct disorders must be taken seriously since living with these animals can be so problematic up to the point where more than one have been eliminated for such cause. Reasons for these neurosis conducts have to be looked often in the immediate environment since with this strange behavior, is a protest again life conditions that are unbearable for them. We will describe about the most important disorders and will offer some suggestions for their treatment. However, remember that the real expert on your cat is yourself; no one will know it better that you, so you will have to do the main work.

Fear
A congenital characteristic of cats is certain caution. However, it is not normal for a cat to run off frightened from any person or hide. That’s not what we expected or want in our cats. There has to be a cause for this kind of behavior; it might have had bad experiences with other people. You might have to reestablish that trust again and carefully which you will need a lot of patience for it.

Sometimes happens that the own owner is the one that generates a strong antipathy by grabbing it or caressing it in a way cats don’t like. Some owners tend to take care of them in a rather authoritarian way. Cats are fed and brushed by force. They put the thermometer like if it was a drill and one submits them to other similar vexations. One doesn’t intend bad, but animals that are treated this way, generally run away frightened when they are going to be objects of this supposedly good actions.

Food rejection
It sounds unreal, but cats can endure such psychic sufferings that they stop eating. They can get to a point where the situation is dangerous.  This is especially painful when we have to take care of a cat from someone we know. Home nostalgia usually unleashes food rejection. Start by emptying completely the food bowl. You have to give the animal small portions of its favorite food. You can also try using diluted glucose in fresh water or milk. If this doesn’t work, I don’t advice you to feed it by force; if not it will get more scared. An option is an injection that will stimulate their appetite. Take your cat to a veterinarian, but don’t go in while being treated, that way after you can be his consolation. Usually after this, the animal starts eating again, but it is important to start serving them small portions so each meal can be waited with interest.
