Cat Constipation
A scrupulous behavior of the feline species protects cats from making gross mistakes in the food ingestion. For example, dogs swallow big quantities of bones when they are offered and this provokes hard dregs as cement. However, in spite of their caution, cats occasionally get constipated which, on the other hand, are very rare. They don’t turn out to be so gaudy as diarrheas, especially in animals that stroll around free. In cat litters, you can observe that excrements have become more solid and hard. If the animal pushes, but nothing comes out; then it will submitted to analysis. Due to the danger of injuries, I think the thermometer shouldn’t be used. Using it as a poking instrument, one tries to verify a possible constipation. It is possible that this instrument is deviated due to the consistency of dregs and damages the intestine. The ideal instrument for this inspection is the forefinger. We are talking about your cat, so try not to be disgusted by the idea. It would be helpful to use a thimble of rubber just like the doctor uses. Regular washing globes are inadequate for due to their thickness, which makes them loose sensibility. Put on the forefinger a lot of cream. Introducing it carefully into the anus, you should be able to feel the impediment and determine the hardness.
This kind of inspection is very important because maybe the exit of the anus is not obstructed by hard excrement, but a needle or bone fragment, which would require a completely different treatment from the one that constipation demands.
